Random observations
Here's what Sophie is into lately-
- Playing in the backyard. We've had spring weather lately.
- Jumping on her mini trampoline while rocking out to kid tunes.
- Puzzles. We got three new ones at a consignment sale yesterday. Hooray!
- Saying bye bye to everyone and insisting we sing the bye bye song. I'll be glad when she can sing the song to herself, but I'm so happy with the word.
- Having her hair done in a barret or pony tail. Tolerating would probably better describe it, but that's an improvement.
- Candy. Even Altoids. She's got that sign down. Twist your pointer finger in your cheek. She can nurse one mini chocolate chip for five minutes.
-Adding words to proloquo2go. This is a program for the iPad that displays symbols or pictures and says the word when pressed. She loves to use it and does so appropriately, although she hasn't fully embraced it as a means to communicate. Her favorite thing is to add a new word. For food, we make her try it before we'll add it. This is a great way for us to talk with her about things. This subject deserves a whole post.
- rice cakes, raw carrots, bacon, ham. These are reliable. Other foods are hit and miss. She had steamed broccoli tonight and we did our best to hide the amazement and joy! Eating could use it's own post as we're hoping to look back at more big changes over time.
- school is still a big hit and is so good for her. Journey Learning Center is a very special place.
- helping with the laundry and dishwasher. She especially likes adding the soap.
- New books from the library.
- She's a fan of variety in general with the exception of pajamas. Elephants only or expect a fit!
