possible progress

Bottle feeding this weekend has been promising. She has not taken a
whole bottle, but has been more consistent about taking at least some
or most of every one. That is more than we had last week when there
were some she just wouldn't take any of.

We talked at length with one of the neonatologists today. He said that
we're getting to the point soon where we can start to rule things out.
Soon prematurity won't be a factor in her ability to eat. Even though
she's still small, that capability is based on maturation, not size.
Also, recovering from surgery might have set back her development for
a while, but we should also be past that.

So basically, the message I got from him and another dr. we talked
with on Thurs is that in the next 2 weeks, we should probably get a
real good idea of how things are going to progress. If she isn't able
to make gains then, it will most likely be the VSD preventing her from
doing that much work. If that's the case, she won't be able to go
home til after her procedure. Otherwise if she starts eating more, we
might get to go home for a while and wait til she's much bigger before
we have to come back.

Also, Sophie's gramma & grampa were up here this weekend. All 3 of them
seemed to have a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoy the visit.
