Sunday at Home

Well, we've been home from the hospital since Tuesday evening. Our time has pretty much been consumed with regular baby stuff plus some. We've got the medical equipment & medicines figured out and are working on establishing a routine.

Today was filled with highs and lows. Sophie has demostrated again that infants can't breath through their mouths. Some spit ups lead to scary episodes. When the goo goes up her nasal pasages in addition to out the mouth, it blocks off her breathing and she turns as white as a sheet. Fortunately, this happened a few times when we were in the hospital, so we know what to do. (Blue suction bulb up the snoot, repeat.) This is the second incident since we came home and is upsetting to all three of us. The scariest idea is that there may be other every day life threatening problems that we don't know how to handle!

The day did have a very nice high point. Sophie finished an entire bottle for the first time! Yeah Sophie!
