Friday weigh in

Sophie weighed in at 16lbs 14oz today, so she's gained just over a pound in 3 weeks. This is good. "Normal" weight gain is 10g/day and hers was 21 over this period. We are trying to increase her volume of formula a little bit, to compensate for her being larger, but it's slow going. She usually has 1 big spit up during one of her 4 daytime meals.

The other big problem is that she has started gagging herself. About a week ago she started shoving her fingers down her throat and coughing and hacking. At first, she seemed to do it while her meal was going in, but now it's at random times. It's very frustrating for us and hard to redirect her to other things once she gets started on this. I'm waiting for the GI nurse to get back to us with ideas about this.

Her favorite thing now is to go into the master bathroom and play near the tub. She won't play in her room, just heads down the hallway to it. She "creeps" back and forth along the edge, dumping each toy and bottle of shampoo into the tub and watching them slide around, one by one. And her new catchphrase is "Daht."
