This past Saturday we decided that we should take Sophie out for a family outing to a museum or somewhere fun. We were considering Ft. Worth, but then remembered that the rodeo is in town and that would be crowded, so we looked into Dallas. It turns out they have a great children's aquarium in fair park. It was great for Sophie. Small enough that you could see it in an hour, but still enough stuff that she got bored, not as expensive, some hand-on things, some displays she liked, and you didn't have to worry about getting run over by a horde of tourists.
She was pretty insistent on "more aquarium" after we left, but there's also a butterfly garden right next door, so we might try that next time.
