Best day ever?

Today we took Sophie to a community theater to see a Dora play.  We didn't tell her about it til Thursday, even though we bought tickets earlier in the week, so she wouldn't bug us all day every day.  She wasn't real sure what to expect, since she only knows Dora as a cartoon, but she had an absolute blast!

The great thing is that it was just like the TV show, so it was easy for her to get into because she was familiar with not only the characters and songs, but also the format and story sequence.  Apparently, they had to add an extra show, and the place was still pretty full of little girls (and some boys).  Stephanie also had Sophie take her bunny coin purse she got for Easter (full of coins from easter eggs) and she used that to buy some M&M's, which I'm sure made the experience more fun (and her more bouncy).

Did I mention Sophie had a ball?  She wasn't too sure about it at first with the seeing the kids in costume as the characters, but she soon got into it.  She was yelling along, singing, dancing, and participating.  It's a good thing we saw the very last performance for the run of this show, because the first thing she said as we were filing out was, "I want to see the Dora play again."

I'm sure we'll take her to many more plays there in the future.  It's a fun, cheap, good thing for her.  But we do think we'll wait til later in the year for a show that's more her speed.  Plus, this was so great that we're afraid nothing will ever live up to it, so we'd better let a few months pass first.
