Dallas Zoo

Last Sunday we went to the Dallas Zoo.  Sophie had a pretty good time.  For me, the highlight was when she and I were front row at the African Savanah exhibit.  There was a zookeeper there answering questions, then she told us that they were sending a bird over from the other side of the enclosure.

I was thinking it might be a parrot or something small, but then this giant crane came flying in and landed right in front of us.  The keeper talked about her (yes, the female bird's name is Tyrone) and then sent her back to the other side again.  She said they just exercise her once a day and we happened to be there.
