Sick

Well, Sophie had done really well this year and hadn't really been sick at all or even had many colds. Then, on the 5th she got the sniffles. That finally ran its course this week, but last night she started vomiting. We've been up every hour or so. It's just retching at this point. :-(

I've given her some Pepto twice now. Hopefully later she'll be able to keep things down. When I asked her how she felt, she actually said, "Tired," which she never does unless she's sick.

--update at 3pm.
Sophie's doing much better.  No more throwing up after 7 or 8 this morning.  She's only eaten a few crackers, but is drinking lots of water & juice.  It is so weird when she's sick.  She just stayed in bed until about 10:30.  Every 10 mins I'd go in and give her a teaspoon of water for an hour or two.  She laid there listening to music the rest of the time.

After she got up and ate something, she's been hanging out on the couch watching PBS kids shows all afternoon.  This is the only time you ever see her awake but not moving.  Even while sitting and watching a video on any other day, she's wiggling, chewing on something, rolling around, standing on her head, etc.

Thanks to everyone who wrote to express concern for her.  I'm sure she'll be fine tomorrow.  Oh, but she did get very sad today when she got up and realized it was late in the day and that she wasn't going to school.  On Thursday she gets to go to "motor lab" therapy at school with some of her friends.  She said, "I missed motor lab," and then the tears just started streaming down.  :(  But I told her she could go to school again tomorrow and motor lab next week and I think that consoled her a little.
