sleepytime
Since this is National Sleep Awareness Week, I thought I'd share a wonderful new invention. It's called letting the baby fall asleep on her own. We tried this one day early last week. After bathtime and storytime, Stephanie just left Sophie in the crib. She didn't seem to mind, just hung out for a while. Then eventually the noises got less and less frequent. Finally after we didn't hear anything for 15 minutes straight, we tiptoed in to find her crashed on her side, leaning on her bunny. The next night, same thing. And it's worked every night so far. She protests for a few seconds after you put her in the crib, but then relaxes pretty quick. Seems like 15mins to half an hour now is what she needs.
Napping is still not going as well, but today I did the same thing and let her go to sleep on her own. Took about an hour, but then she slept 2 hours, which is much better than her usual of just over an hour.
Pediasure doesn't seem to be agreeing with her. Of course, this is after I buy 3 cases of the stuff in bulk. But we're trying to work it in slowly to see if she'll get used to it.
Looks like Sophie should be getting into the speech daypatient program sometime later this spring. They told us that's good, apparently the wait can be much longer. But I think she is doing better with eating. She has started drinking consistently out of her sippy cup and seems to be improving on foods, albeit slowly.
