cardio visit
Well, we went to the cardiologist today for a followup and things are great! The doctor said all the repairs from her surgery in October look good, the flow is great, and her blood pressure is still good. And the doctor said there is no sign of scar tissue or other stuff building up and re-blocking anything. She said that it's usually in the 6 months following a procedure that they see problems like that, so the fact that things are looking good almost 5 months after for Sophie is a good sign.
So we were happy, but Sophie was anything but. She pitched a fit when they tried to do an EKG, and get her blood pressure, or oxygen levels, even cried just when getting weighed. Then when the nurse just came into the exam room, Sophie started crying. And the echocardiogram was bad at first, but finally she got it all out and relaxed. We were relieved. Imagine just sitting there for an entire 10 minutes while the tech probes and takes pictures. Now imagine there's a baby screaming that entire time. It can be less than fun. Sophie passed out in the car on the way home.
On Tuesday, Sophie and I went to baby story time at our public library. I saw a poster for it a couple weeks ago. It's for ages 0-2. Sophie (and the other 7 babies) had a blast. The actual storytime part was maybe 3 or 4 minutes of the half hour or so. But they have a lady that leads it and she had songs to sing; stuffed animals, puppets and other props; and baby free-for-all at the end. We had a great time and will probably go every week, as I think it's a good opportunity for her to socialize.
