September already?
Sorry that there haven't been a lot of updates lately. I went to Connecticut to my brother's bachelor party the weekend before last and have been trying to get caught up from that. And Stephanie's job has been ramping up somewhat, though not as much as usual, it seems.
Sophie is doing well. Not much has changed. She is getting better at climbing things, which is fun for her, scary for us. I'm working on getting a couple of videos online. She can also wear some 18mo stuff, like her cool Trinity t-shirt (thanks, Riepes!), so that's exciting for us that she is getting caught up.
She did have another swallow study yesterday at the recommendation of the speech therapists. We weren't ecstatic about the idea, since the last one she had in January showed that she had no issues taking thin liquids, but they thought we should rule out any problems with this (again). So yesterday she and I went to the radiology dept at Baylor in Dallas. The good thing was that her regular speech therapist was there, so Sophie handled it a little better than she has previous ones. She took 8 or ten drinks, and had some pudding, and that was it. They didn't give her anything chunky, which I know she has problems with, but I guess that's more of a mouth sensitivity issue than a mechanical swallowing problem. But I also got to check out her teeth in the xray movie. She has 4 molars, one on top and bottom on each side and I didn't see evidence of them getting any companions anytime soon.
