Swim Class Update

The first session of swim class got cancelled after just 1 class due to weather and then a mechanical problem at the pool.  So the second session started a week or two ago.  We're not sure if there will be another.  Sophie is doing well with the exercises involved, but she has a real hard time waiting her turn.  They are supposed to either stay on the steps or stay with their hand on the edge of the shallow end, but she will just swim out away from the wall or step.  The instructor will say "Stay on the wall, Miss Sophie," while she tries to work with another kid and literally 2 seconds later, Sophie is off and swimming, or dipping her head under.

We've tried taking her out of the class early if she gets too many time outs, which the instructor will eventually do--sit her out on the edge of the pool for a minute or two.  I think of the 5 classes so far, she's made it til the end of two of them.  Hopefully, things will improve.
