Pete the Cat
I've never heard of this before, but at school the kids are reading books about Pete the Cat. Apparently he's very big amongst preschoolers. He has his own youtube channel, website, books, etc. So, the kids get to take turns bringing Pete the Cat home.
On Sophie's day, she got in the car and started jabbering nonstop about Pete the Cat. Pete this and Pete that, and Pete you can sleep in my room, Pete we're going to have lunch when we get home. He got to go to therapy with us, and to pick up Peter from the babysitters (where we had to fight all the other little kids off of her to keep them from taking Pete the Cat). Pete the Cat got to sleep in her bed and then go back to school with her on Friday. I must have buckled the seatbelt for him 10 times in a 24 hour period.
It's amazing how excited they all get for him. I think it's a status booster, or something. The next week one of the other little girls got to bring Pete home and when we stopped at daycare to pick up Peter, she made a point of telling Sophie and going to her bag to go get the cat out to show her.
