New Haircut and ready for school
Last weekend, I took Sophie to StrideRite and got some new shoes to take advantage of the tax-free weekend. We went Friday afternoon, so it wasn't too crazy. Then, last night Stephanie took her to get a haircut and they also got a couple of new outfits.
I think Sophie is ready to go back to school. This summer we had her and Peter in an in-home daycare. The lady is really nice and one of the things we liked about it was that she doesn't have a curriculum--just lots of toys and lots of free play time. We felt like that would be good for Sophie, since one of the things she needs to work on is social interaction with other kids. I think she did improve some, but I'm not sure how much of the time she was playing with them and how much off to doing her own thing. Anyway, it was just for the summer (that's what we kept telling ourselves).
Here's some pics of her new hairdo. We were trying to grow it out before, but her hair is so fine that it won't stay and place and was constantly in her face and eyes unless you put it in a ponytail. This should be lower maintenance and more comfortable for her. Plus, it's super cute!
(edit) the other little girls at daycare both stopped to look at Sophie Friday morning and compliment her. One of them said, "You look like a princess," which is the highest praise for little girls this age.
