5 months!
all the time. She is still cranky most evenings, but we think it's just
a lack of sleep thing. Today for example, she got up at 9am (this is
earlier than normal) and only had 2 catnaps all afternoon. This meant
that she tolerated going to our neighbor's pool party for about, oh,
maybe 10 minutes before Stephanie had to take her back home.
Later in the afternoon, we went to Mimi's house. Sophie was still a
little cranky, but got some rest and was a little happier after supper.
Other than that, she is still not taking a bottle right now (although we
think we've seen improvements the last day or two), but she is starting
to put everything in her mouth, including her thumb and a finger or two.
She jabbers a lot while she does this, too, which is funny.
We went to the orthopedist this week and he said she looks good so far.
We have to go back in 3 mos and then again when she's a year and a half
for xrays. He said that even though there is now no dysplasia, there is
a small chance that the hip socket could still not form right, and the
xray when she's bigger allows him to measure that more precisely. So,
we'll worry about that when we get there.
Sophie seems so big to us now. She is probably close to 9.5lbs, which
we will go for a weigh-in to verify this week. Of course, many babies
are born this big, so it's still funny for us when someone comes up to
us in the grocery store and says, "Oh she's so tiny!" because to us
she's not, or "You must have a new one." I usually say something like
"You should have seen her back in January! She's come a long way."
