busy day
This evening Stephanie and I went to a donor appreciation dinner for Cooks Childrens Hospital. Her firm made a donation to Cooks this spring when Sophie was still in the NICU and then asked Stephanie to go to this dinner to represent them. I thought that was very nice of them, on both counts. It was at a restored train station in downtown FTW and was pretty snazzy. Even though it was little bitty fancy food, we somehow still ate too much.
Sophie didn't get to go. She visited with her Mimi instead. But this morning Sophie got to go to her first therapy sessions at Baylor Our Childrens House where we finally got in (after 2 months on the waiting list). Yay! She is going to be doing 1/2 hour of speech therapy (working on feeding) and 1/2 hour of physical therapy twice a week. And they managed to get us in at the Grapevine location, so we don't have to drive to downtown Dallas twice a week. Sophie really seemed to enjoy her baby workout, too, and liked all the therapists. We think this is going to be really beneficial for her and will be glad to finally be making more progress.
Tomorrow my parents are coming up in the morning. We still need to do laundry and pack and then Thursday morning Stephanie and I will be off on our trip!
