Yay Spring!

So we got an inch or two of snow yesterday on the first day of Spring. I think it was the 4th time we've had snow this winter. Sophie had been sick for the others, so we put her coat on her yesterday and took her out in it for a few minutes. She wasn't that interested this time and didn't seem to take us seriously when we told her she might not see snow again for a long time.

We're glad to have some warm weather hitting. Sophie has been so sniffly and congested all winter. She may have had some kind of chronic sinus infection that will hopefully clear up now. She did great the week after she came home from the hospital. In fact, she was doing more jabbering and babbling than we'd heard in a long, long time. Then, one Sunday she woke up sniffly and was quiet again after that. Her therapist said that is common that either they just don't feel up to talking when they're under the weather, or if their ears are affected that can make them not talk, too.

We're moving her therapy from Dallas (where we've been going for follow-up since she did the program there last May) back to Grapevine. Mostly because it's a lot closer, but also because we want them to do more with her about trying new textures and self-feeding. At Dallas, they were mostly working with her on increasing volume, with a side-focus on textures, with a goal of working up to taking everything orally. Well, we felt that we could do that on our own, but we need more help with getting her to eat more different kinds of food. Purees are great for shoveling in, but when you're out & about, they're not so convenient.

Stephanie is getting busy with tax season, and then hopefully when that's over, we're going to take a 3 day weekend or something and maybe go camping.
