more tests

Sophie is supposed to have a followup hip ultrasound today to see how that is going. Supposedly they're going to remove her brace and leave it off through the test and until the orthopedist comes later to fit the new one. If they don't come by by 5 or so, I'm going to be very unhappy.

She did have the swallow study done later yesterday afternoon. We haven't had the doctor or speech therapist come formally give us the results yet, but her nurse told us they did determine Sophie is having reflux issues. She also said that things the consistency of honey she can swallow, but like I said, no word yet on what the treatment will be.

Last night I went up there for the 8pm session. I had the nurse thicken her milk a little more than usual and Sophie drank 30 of 42mL, which is pretty good. She took 18mL at her first go-round and that was about 10-12 minutes without her taking a break or spilling any, a new best for her. In fact, we only had to use one napkin, which is an achievement in itself. I can't wait to see how she does once we start treating the reflux.

Also, Stephanie could use some cheering up. She has had a sore throat and cough for the last 5 or 6 days and has not been able to visit Sophie much. This has been really, really hard on her, but she has been getting a lot of rest and hopefully will be better soon.
